Yes, we’ve been huge fans. Her albums are ups and downs in my opinion, but it’s hard to argue with the song “Paper Plans”. It has created immediate fans around me, everywhere I went and played the song. Chicks went crazy, gents just boobed their heads following the beat, as it usually goes for a truly great song, where both genders can find it good and entertaining. Here is a very weird, techno-jazzy remix of the song. It took me 2 or 3 loops to really appreciate it, but I like this little twist. DFA, a trio from NYC that has a HUGE credentials in the music world as producers and remixers (they produced stuff for N.E.R.D., Chemical Brothers, Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem, and more), are a funky innovative bunch. We recommend you check out more of their stuff here.
I found this song thanks to “This Recording” blog, which is truly a nice surprise I stumbled upon to in the last few days. Very eclectic, and frankly a bit weird…nowadays that means cool, just like the 80s.
